These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of INCEIF’s online donation channels, including the official website and any INCEIF-owned or authorised platforms through which donations are collected.

Last Updated: 30 January 2026
Note:
By accessing these channels or making a donation to INCEIF, the donor agrees to be bound by these Terms.

The International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) is an institution established to advance education, research, and thought leadership in Islamic finance. INCEIF shares information about its programmes, initiatives, and institutional activities, and facilitates the receipt of donations from both internal and external donors. All donations received shall be administered and applied toward purposes approved by INCEIF, including institutional, programme-related, and other initiatives, as well as the specific purposes stated in the relevant campaigns or programmes, in accordance with applicable laws and Shariah principles.

INCEIF accepts donations that:

  1. Do not expose INCEIF to uncertain or significant liabilities.
  2. Do not involve sensitive matters that could adversely affect the reputation of INCEIF.
  3. Originate from lawful and Shariah-compliant sources.
  4. Do not involve money laundering, terrorism financing, or any other unlawful activities.
  5. May include naming opportunities, provided the donation is significant and does not compromise or place INCEIF in a difficult or inappropriate position.

INCEIF may decline a donation in situations where:

  1. Conditions attached are administratively impractical, unlawful, contrary to public policy, or inconsistent with INCEIF’s mission and core values.
  2. The donation requires acknowledgement or valuation that is difficult or impracticable to determine.
  3. The donation is unmanageable, entails disproportionate commitments, or imposes obligations that outweigh the intended benefit.

INCEIF accepts donations through a variety of online donation channels, including but not limited to:

  1. INCEIF’s official website;
  2. Third-party platforms (e.g., crowdfunding sites, payment gateways);
  3. Mobile donation apps or portals; or
  4. Any future online donation mechanisms.

These channels provide secure and convenient methods for making donations and are governed by these Terms and Conditions.

By making a donation via INCEIF’s online donation channels, the donor confirms and acknowledges that:

  1. The donation is made voluntarily and without any expectation of goods, services, or other benefits in return.
  2. The donor is acting in their own capacity and is not making the donation on behalf of any undisclosed third party.
  3. The funds used originate from lawful and Shariah-compliant sources and are not derived from criminal conduct, including money laundering or terrorism financing, as defined under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing, and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA).
  4. The donor authorises INCEIF to process the payment securely through third-party payment service providers.
  5. All donations are final and non-refundable, except in cases specified under the Refunds section.
  6. The donor provides personal data voluntarily and acknowledges that INCEIF may collect, use, and process such data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) and INCEIF’s applicable data protection policies, including for verification and due diligence purposes.

All donations made through INCEIF’s online donation channels are processed through secure third-party payment service providers engaged by INCEIF. INCEIF does not store full payment card or banking details. Payment processing is subject to the terms, conditions, and privacy policies of the respective service providers. INCEIF does not control and is not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of these external providers.

By proceeding with a donation, the donor consents to the disclosure and processing of personal and payment-related data by such third-party service providers, strictly for the purpose of facilitating and completing the donation transaction.

The donor is responsible for providing complete, accurate, and up-to-date information, and for confirming the donation before submission.

INCEIF’s online donation channels may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, upgrades, or technical reasons. INCEIF shall not be liable for any unavailability, interruptions, or errors in access.

INCEIF shall not be liable for:
  1. Any failure, delay, interruption, or error attributable to third-party payment service providers;
  2. Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of INCEIF’s online donation channels;
  3. Any loss arising from failed donations, unauthorized access, or reliance on information provided on the channels.
INCEIF’s liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Once a donation has been successfully processed, it cannot be cancelled. As a general principle, all donations are final and non-refundable.

Refunds may be considered only in exceptional circumstances, including:

  1. Duplicate transactions;
  2. Proven technical or system errors;
  3. Fraudulent transactions, including unauthorised use of payment instruments; or
  4. Donations made pursuant to a specific term, duration, or condition associated with a programme or initiative for which the donor has duly executed registration and expressly consented prior to remitting the donation.

Any request for review must be submitted in writing within two (2) working days from the transaction date. Approval of refunds is at INCEIF’s sole discretion and subject to applicable laws, Shariah considerations, and internal management approval.

Donation receipts will be issued based on the information provided by the donor and in accordance with the relevant campaign, programme, or initiative.

Donors acknowledge and agree that:

  1. Receipts can only be issued directly to the donor where sufficient contact or identifying information has been provided.
  2. Donations made without sufficient identifying information may be treated as anonymous, and INCEIF cannot issue or trace receipts unless the donor provides verifiable proof of payment acceptable to INCEIF.
  3. Donation receipts are the responsibility of the donor. They will be retained in INCEIF’s systems for one (1) year from the date of the donation, after which access to the receipt may no longer be available.

INCEIF collects, stores, and processes donor personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). By making a donation, the donor consents to INCEIF processing their personal information for purposes of donation verification, reporting, receipts issuance, and programme administration. INCEIF will not share donor data with third parties except as required for processing payments or as permitted by law.

All content on INCEIF’s online donation channels, including text, logos, images, documents, and other materials, is the property of INCEIF or its licensors.

Donors and users agree not to:

  1. Use INCEIF’s online donation channels for any unlawful, misleading, or fraudulent activity;
  2. Attempt unauthorised access to INCEIF systems, data, or accounts;
  3. Upload malicious software, viruses, or harmful code;
  4. Provide false, misleading, or incomplete information.

INCEIF reserves the right to restrict or terminate access to its online donation channels for any breach of these Terms.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless INCEIF, its officers, employees, and affiliates against any claims, losses, damages, or expenses arising from:

  1. Any breach of these Terms;
  2. Misuse of INCEIF’s online donation channels; or
  3. Any unlawful or unauthorised donation activity.

INCEIF reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be published on INCEIF’s online donation channels with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the online donation channels constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia, and subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
