Assessment structure for applicants seeking admission into eligible Master’s programmes through the APEL.A pathway.
Master’s Entry
The assessment includes aptitude test, portfolio preparation and an interview session to verify evidence and learning value.
Assessment Structure
Passing Requirement
Applicants must achieve a minimum of 50% to pass the aptitude test.
Test Duration
The aptitude test duration is 2 hours.
Difficulty Level
Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree level.
Aptitude Test Structure
The test is divided into four subject areas.
APEL T-7
Bahasa Melayu
- Section A: 13 Objective Questions
- Section B: 1 Structured Question
English
- Section A: 12 Objective Questions
- Section B: 1 Structured Question
Mathematics
- Section A: 25 Objective Questions
- Section B: 1 Structured Question
General Knowledge / Critical Thinking
- Section A: 25 Objective Questions
- Section B: 2 Structured Questions
Portfolio
Evidence-based documentation
- Preparation of a portfolio based on the format provided in the APEL.A Handbook.
Interview Session
Verification and explanation session
- The interview is generally conducted to verify the evidence provided in the portfolio.
- Applicants may explain in more detail the learning value acquired.
- Applicants are required to present the original copies of their certificates during the interview session.
Assessment Fees
The APEL assessment fee must be paid to the Open APEL Assessment Centre (PPA) UNIMAS.
