Course Structure
List of Courses
This course prepares students with research tools for undertaking their dissertation/thesis. It focuses on the philosophy and theory of research methods by equipping students with approaches and techniques they may use in their dissertation/ thesis. Students will be exposed to the theory and application of quantitative, qualitative and big data analytics research tools and methodology.
This seminar course is designed as one of the capstone courses for doctoral students. It provides an in-depth study of the evolution of Islamic economics thought and, in the process, develops new approaches and models that can explain policy issues and recommendations based on the worldview of Islam and the maqasid of Shariah. Coverage of these topics provides students with an overall understanding of the basic envision of an economic system that operates with institutions prescribed in the Qur’an and modern society’s context. Moreover, students can recommend new approaches to solve contemporary issues in Muslim countries.
This seminar course is designed as one of the capstone courses for doctoral students. The course exposes students to contemporary Shariah and legal issues and their solutions applicable to the modern Islamic finance industry. Upon completion of this course, students must be able to grasp the theoretical and practical issues facing the global Islamic finance industry and find adequate solutions to resolve those issues. Furthermore, the students must be able to prepare themselves to undertake their dissertation on topics related to the application of Shariah in the Islamic finance industry, not limited to Islamic Banking, Takaful and Islamic Capital Market.
