At the 3rd ICONIE conference in Sarajevo, Associate Dean Prof Dr Aishath Muneeza delivered a keynote on “Innovative Technological Solutions for Enhancing Transparency and Efficiency in Islamic Philanthropy.”
At another session, the Director of the Centre of Excellence in Islamic Social Finance (CoEISF) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdul Khir Mohamed Fairooz highlighted the distinctive features of Islamic philanthropy (IP), emphasising its Shariah regulations, flexibility, and alignment with principles of justice and benevolence. IP stands as a powerful instrument towards achieving the Maqasid Shariah and SDGs.
In a separate session, Assistant Prof Dr. Ali Zhang highlighted a bibliometric analysis that shed light on the evolving landscape of Islamic Social Finance, with Malaysia and Indonesia leading global scholarly discussions. The focus is shifting towards ISF tools, particularly Zakat, aligning with Maqasid Al-Shariah to drive the SDGs.
