Bachok, 14 MAY 2026 – INCEIF University and CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad today officially launched a new ISRA Corner at the Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) Bachok campus, marking a significant expansion of their shared mission to advance Islamic finance education.
This collaboration signifies a shared commitment between the three institutions to bridge the gap between academic research and industry application. Fully sponsored by CIMB Islamic, the hub at UMK joins a select network of universities across Malaysia dedicated to fostering high-level expertise in the sector.
Through the ISRA Corner, students and researchers at UMK gain enhanced access to I-FIKR, the industry’s leading digital platform for Islamic finance knowledge, alongside a curated collection of high-level scholarly resources.
Chief Financial Officer of INCEIF University, YM Raja Mohamad Shahadan Raja Mohamed, emphasised the practical impact of the initiative; “We do not want this knowledge to remain confined to theses or lecture halls. Instead, we want it translated into tangible applications that can be directly utilised by the industry.
“The ISRA Corner is more than just a physical space, it is a platform and a bridge facilitating knowledge, collaboration, and critical thinking in the world of Islamic finance,” said Raja Mohamad Shahadan.
The ceremony was officiated by Mr. Ekmal Mohd Zazi, Regional Head of Corporate Banking at CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad. Highlighting the industry-driven nature of the hub, the event also featured an Executive Talk on Fintech solutions, providing UMK students with direct insights into the evolving landscape of digital banking and Neobanks.
As the latest university to join this high-impact network, UMK’s participation further solidifies Malaysia’s position as a global leader in Islamic finance expertise and talent development.
