INCEIF University and IBA CEIF Strengthen Long-Standing Global Partnership

KUALA LUMPUR, 4 June 2026 – INCEIF University and the Centre for Excellence in Islamic Finance at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA CEIF), Pakistan, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand their international collaboration. This partnership focuses on student mobility, faculty exchanges, and joint research designed to make global Islamic finance education more practical and accessible.

Representing INCEIF University at the signing ceremony were Deputy President Academic, Prof. Dr. Mansor Ibrahim, alongside Associate Dean for Students and Internationalisation, Prof. Dr. Aishath Muneeza. The collaboration brings together two world-class, AACSB-accredited institutions that both stand as premier global knowledge hubs for the financial industry.

This agreement strengthens a long and successful history of working together. The relationship began in 2016 when INCEIF hosted 17 postgraduate students from IBA Pakistan for a hands-on learning experience in Malaysia. This bond grew through the joint organisation of major global research conferences in 2022, and most recently in 2024, when INCEIF served as the Academic Partner for the World Islamic Finance Forum in Karachi.

In his welcoming speech, Prof. Dr. Mansor Ibrahim highlighted the importance of looking for international partners who share the same vision for education. He stated that this partnership intends to foster a natural exchange of knowledge, resources, and best practices between two esteemed institutions from different countries, contributing to a more comprehensive understanding of Islamic finance on a global scale.

Prof. Dr. Mansor also noted that as the global Islamic finance industry continues to evolve, there is an increasing need for institutions to work together in developing talent, generating impactful research, and creating solutions that address contemporary economic and societal challenges. He added that this MoU reflects a mutual commitment to strengthening academic excellence, fostering innovation, and nurturing the next generation of Islamic finance professionals and thought leaders.

Sharing this positive outlook, the Dean of IBA’s School of Business Studies, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Zafar Sheikh, expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality and long-standing friendship between the two entities. He noted that IBA Pakistan is deeply committed to this collaboration, expressing high hopes that expanding these cross-border exchange opportunities will greatly benefit students and enrich the academic growth of both institutions.

Looking ahead, the MoU opens up fresh pathways for interactive experiential learning, student exchange visits, and collaborative research tackling modern sustainability challenges. By combining their strengths, INCEIF and IBA CEIF aim to keep Islamic finance education engaging, forward-thinking, and globally connected, measuring success by the students supported and communities impacted.

The ceremony was also attended by a distinguished delegation from IBA Pakistan, including Department of Finance Chairperson Prof. Dr. Hilal Anwar Butt, Assistant Professor Dr. Azima Khan, Assistant Professor Dr. Sharjeel Hasnie, and IBA CEIF Director Associate Professor Dr. Irum Saba.
