Kuala Lumpur, 27 November 2025: INCEIF University celebrated a defining milestone tonight with its 20th Anniversary dinner, honouring two decades of contribution to Malaysia’s leadership in Islamic finance and its rising influence across global financial systems.
The dinner, attended by INCEIF governing members, staff, students, alumni and partners, was graced by DYTM Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.
In her Welcoming Remarks, Chancellor Tan Sri Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus reflected on INCEIF’s founding in 2005 by Bank Negara Malaysia with a mission to develop principled leaders rooted in justice, stewardship and integrity.
Over the last 20 years, what began as a pioneering postgraduate institution has grown into a globally recognised university, accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) – a prestigious international benchmark attained by only the top 6% of business schools worldwide. INCEIF graduates, now spread across more than 90 countries, are strengthening central banks, ministries, global organisations and the fast-evolving Islamic fintech ecosystem.
Tan Sri Nor Shamsiah highlighted that Islamic finance’s moral foundations remain increasingly relevant as the world navigates digital disruption, sustainability imperatives and shifting global dynamics. She reaffirmed INCEIF’s commitment to advancing research excellence, strengthening policy engagement and shaping leaders who will architect ethical and resilient financial systems.
In his Royal Address, DYTM Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj commended INCEIF’s enduring contributions to Malaysia’s prominence in Islamic finance and praised the university for cultivating graduates who embody integrity, vision and a deep sense of public purpose.
His Highness emphasised the crucial role of institutions like INCEIF in anchoring trust and responsibility within the financial sector of the future.
“The next twenty years will bring new challenges: digital transformation, artificial intelligence, changing work patterns, and global sustainability demands. But these are also opportunities for Malaysia and for INCEIF to redefine what leadership in Islamic finance truly means.
“Leadership is inclusive, ethical, and sustainable. A leadership that transforms the generosity of Islamic Social Finance into lasting social impact. And most importantly, a leadership that empowers young Malaysians to be agents of positive change for their families, their communities, and the ummah at large,” His Highness added. The evening also featured the introduction of meaningful initiatives that reflect INCEIF’s community spirit and industry leadership. The iCare Alumni Fund (i-CARE) was launched as an alumni-powered platform supporting students facing financial hardship, ensuring that deserving scholars can pursue their education without interruption.
INCEIF also unveiled `Islamic Banking in Malaysia: Past, Present and Future’ book, curated by INCEIF’s research arm, ISRA Institute, for Maybank Islamic. The book captures Malaysia’s pioneering Islamic banking journey through insights from regulators, Shariah scholars and practitioners.
The highlight of the night was the unveiling of the INCEIF 20th Anniversary Commemorative Book – a signature coffee table volume that encapsulated the university’s legacy. Through powerful visual storytelling, archival photography, reflections and milestone moments, the book chronicles INCEIF’s evolution from its earliest foundations to its global impact today, celebrating the people, partnerships and ideas that shaped its first 20 years.

Ends.
