Kuala Lumpur, 24 Nov 2025 – At the Lembaga Zakat Negeri Kedah (LZNK) Strategic Partners Appreciation Ceremony, graced by HRH Sultan Kedah Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah, INCEIF University was honoured for its key role in advancing a more inclusive ummah.
The evening, attended by state leaders and distinguished guests, marked a shared commitment between LZNK and INCEIF to strengthen community empowerment through impactful, evidence-based Islamic finance.
The highlight of the event was the handover of the LZNK Stakeholder Engagement Impact Report 2025, presented to HRH Sultan Kedah by INCEIF President & CEO Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr Azmi Omar.
Produced by INCEIF University, the report documents LZNK’s extensive collaborations with corporate partners and public and private agencies nationwide. It showcases how these partnerships have delivered tangible improvements for asnaf communities – ranging from enhanced household economic resilience to wider access to education, healthcare and employment opportunities. The findings affirm that a thriving Islamic economic ecosystem is rooted in shared expertise, resources and cross-sector collaboration, ensuring that no one is left behind.
The ceremony also celebrated LZNK’s exceptional achievements in organisational excellence. LZNK was named the first religious agency to secure two internationally recognised cybersecurity certifications from CyberSecurity Malaysia: ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for Information Security Management and ISO/IEC 27701:2019 for Privacy Information Management.
LZNK Chairman and Kedah State Secretary, Dato’ Seri Norizan Khazali, emphasised that these certifications, typically held by leading institutions in finance, telecommunications and technology, underscored LZNK’s capability to safeguard sensitive stakeholder information and reinforce its position as a trusted, progressive zakat institution.
Looking ahead, Norizan announced that LZNK is preparing to embark on its second five-year strategic plan (2026–2030), following the successful implementation of the first phase (2021–2025). The new plan centres on seven strategic pillars, including innovation in new funding streams, strengthening technology and artificial intelligence capabilities, high-impact governance, legacy and talent development, and alignment with Maqasid Al Shariah and Value-Based Intermediation (VBI). With a renewed vision to become a “Global Leader in the Islamic Social Economic Agenda,” LZNK aims to further elevate the impact of zakat, sadaqah and waqf for the betterment of the ummah.
Together, LZNK and INCEIF continue to champion initiatives that uplift livelihoods, enhance social mobility and widen the reach of Islamic social finance; building a more empowered, resilient and inclusive community for all.
Ends.
