ISRA Consulting, ISRA RMC & INCEIF University Voted Top Three in Their Respective Fields by the Industry

Kuala Lumpur, 9 Oct 2024 – ISRA Consulting, the consulting subsidiary of INCEIF University, clinched the Best Shariah Advisory Firm accolade for the first time in an international poll conducted by leading Islamic finance news portal, Islamic Finance News (IFN).

In its latest cover story, IFN said: “If there is a lesson to be learned from the race to become the Best Shariah Advisory Firm, it is that nobody should rest on their laurels. Amanie Advisors, one of the most prominent names in Shariah advisory globally, has lost its hard-fought seat to ISRA Consulting, bowing out from the top three ranking this year.”

IIUM Shariah Advisory Services came in second, followed by newcomer Elzar Shariah Solution & Advisory. In 2023, ISRA Consulting was the first runner-up.

ISRA Consulting bagged another award which is the first runner-up for Best Islamic Finance Consultancy Firm.

IFN said ISRA Consulting might be Malaysian born, but its repertoire extended beyond its domestic shores as it leveraged its diverse team of seasoned Islamic finance practitioners, economists, accountants, legal minds, regulators and Shariah experts. ISRA Consulting’s multidisciplinary range of skills and expertise has led it to be sought after by various jurisdictions. This year alone ISRA Consulting has undertaken projects abroad that include for Tajikistan, and Shariah advisory works in Singapore, Australia and Germany.

INCEIF University improved its ranking to be the first runner-up in the Best

Educational Institution Offering Islamic Finance Courses category. This category, introduced just last year, saw stiff competition from hundreds of providers globally. INCEIF unseated Institute of Business Administration Karachi, last year’s first runner-up.

INCEIF continues to enhance its programme offerings as the world’s sole dedicated postgraduate university in Islamic finance, and recently added sustainability, Islamic social finance (ISF) and Fintech to its modules. To be on track as the bridge between academia and industry, the University continues to investigate workable initiatives to incorporate Islamic finance and ISF as the solution to address the socio-economic challenges, particularly in the post-pandemic world, and execute workable long-term projects to address poverty among vulnerable groups in society.

INCEIF’s research arm, ISRA Research Management Centre (ISRA RMC), was voted first runner-up in the Best Islamic Finance Research Firm category. Last year, ISRA RMC secured the top spot, an honour it has claimed eight times in this highly competitive category.

ISRA RMC has won the Best Islamic Research Firm award numerous times from many international organisations since its establishment in 2008. The awards highlight ISRA’s increasing dominance in the research space, and its active developing activities in making a real contribution to industry knowledge. Acknowledged as an influential force in deepening the body of knowledge for Islamic finance, ISRA RMC drives high impact and cutting-edge research and curates industry reports and training modules. To cater to the different needs of research innovation and development, it has expanded its scopes to Islamic economics and ISF, hence creating greater impact to the Muslim ummah.

The IFN Service Providers Poll, in its 19th year, is unique in its recognition of the vital role that third parties and service providers play in smoothing the path for Islamic finance and setting the benchmark for its ongoing quality, consistency and creativity by supporting the underlying operations that are crucial to its success. Year in and year out, it has always been ypercompetitive, and this year was no different.

INCEIF University President & CEO Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr Azmi Omar said: “First and foremost, Alhamdulillah. We would like to record our gratitude to our students, partners and clients around the globe that have given us the opportunity to serve them. The award also goes to all our staff for their hard work and relentless support. Indeed, these recognitions have reminded us to never rest on our laurels, and work harder to always deliver the best, InShaAllah.”
