Cumulative alumni reaches 45 professionals, with standout participants successfully registered as Shariah Advisors under the Securities Commission Malaysia.
Kuala Lumpur, 20 May 2026 – The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and ISRA Consulting today celebrated the convocation of the third and final cohort of the Shariah Mentorship Programme (SMP), marking a major milestone in building a highly skilled talent pipeline for the Islamic capital market (ICM).
With 15 new graduates completing the rigorous training, the multi-year capacity-building initiative has successfully produced a cumulative total of 45 elite alumni from over 750 registrations since its inception.
Demonstrating immediate market relevance, 73% of the total alumni (33 out of 45) are already actively serving within Islamic finance institutions, the Shariah fraternity, and the broader financial industry. Notably, standout participants across the cohorts have officially advanced their credentials to register as Shariah Advisors under the SC.
Professor Dr. Mansor Ibrahim, Board Director of ISRA Consulting, highlighted the critical role of these graduates in navigating today’s complex financial landscape: “The industry requires Shariah professionals who understand not only Shariah principles, but also financial structures, governance expectations, market practices, risk considerations, and ethical responsibility. The success of SMP reinforces the importance of investing in people, because strong institutions and strong industries are ultimately built by capable, principled, and committed individuals,” he said.
The unique structure of the eight-month programme combining three months of intensive classroom sessions at INCEIF University with five months of hands-on industrial placement has been highly praised by its participants for bridging the gap between theory and real-world application.
Nurul Nabilah Noor Razman, the Outstanding Participant Award Recipient for Cohort 3, emphasized the impact of this approach: “Following the completion of the programme, I was entrusted with a role within the Shariah Advisory and Operations team in my organisation, a transition reflecting the trust placed in translating this experience into meaningful institutional responsibility.”
Muhammad Wafi Roslan, Outstanding Participant Award Nominee, added: “SMP was much more than just a mentorship programme; it became a platform for learning, self-development, and real industry exposure across various areas, from Shariah governance to practical industry challenges.”
Introduced in 2023 and funded by the Capital Market Development Fund (CMDF), the SMP is a structured capacity-building program organized by the SC and managed by ISRA Consulting, a wholly owned subsidiary of INCEIF University.
